The 51国产视频鈥檚 Engineering and Technology Expo is serious business for high school and elementary students and educators who want to learn about engineering majors and careers.
Prospective engineers tour University labs, view demonstrations, hear faculty members discuss research, chat with industry professionals, and get advice on topics such as admissions.
But the event, which is sponsored by 麻豆AV鈥檚 College of Engineering and the student chapter of the Louisiana Engineering Society, is seriously fun, too.
Attendees get to participate in designed to teach engineering concepts, for example. Contests include building a vessel to keep dropped raw eggs from breaking, and constructing small catapults that will fling Ping-Ping balls into the air.
The will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday near Madison and Rougeau halls on Rex Street. Attendees can pre-register or register at the event.
Dr. Ahmed Khattab, interim dean of the College of Engineering, said Expo Day typically draws more than 2,000 people.
鈥淪ome attend to explore engineering and technology as a career. Others come because they already plan to study engineering, but are still considering which discipline to study, or which school to attend,鈥 Khattab said.
